Toyota has a new 4.0-liter V6, beefed up its 4.7L V8 engine and is offering a new 5.7L V8 on 2007 Tundra pickup trucks. All models have an automatic transmission, and are now standard with side curtain and seat side airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) and 4 wheel disc brakes.
Engine HighlightsNew 5.7-liter V8 produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft. of torque, about a 30-percent increase over previous models.
V8 gains variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i), upping horsepower from 271 to 381. Torque has increased by 10 lb-ft. to 325 lb-ft.
All three engines feature a new electronic throttle control system with intelligence (ETCS-i) to help optimize performance and fuel economy.
Tundra Automatic TransmissionA new six-speed automatic transmission is on all 5.7L V8 Tundra's. A five-speed automatic transmission is on all 4.7L V8 Tundra's.
